Nvidia (NVDA.US) delivered robust quarterly earnings and a strong forecast, yet its stock weakened in after-hours trading. Hong Kong’s stock market started the day unevenly, with the HSI dipping 4 points at the open before climbing 288 points to a three-year high of 24,076 in early trading. The gains later faded, and by midday, the index was down 252 points, or 1.1%, at 23,535. The HSCEI sagged 133 points, or 1.5%, to 8,658. The HSTECH dropped 148 points, or 2.5%, to 5,805. Total market turnover for the morning session reached HK$234.967 billion. ADR prices of the "Nio-XPeng-Li" trio surged, with NIO-SW (09866.HK) and XPENG-W (09868.HK) up 7.8% and 4.7%, respectively, and LI AUTO-W (02015.HK) down 0.6%. Among other automakers, BYD COMPANY (01211.HK) opened 4.9% higher, hitting a new peak of HK$408.8, before paring gains to close the morning up 0.4% at HK$391.4. GWMOTOR (02333.HK) and GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) advanced 4.7% and 4%, respectively, while LEAPMOTOR (09863.HK) shot up 3.1%. Auto dealer ZHONGSHENG HLDG (00881.HK) swelled 3.8%. Ahead of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra phone launch, XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) peaked at a new high of HK$58.7 but reversed sharply, ending the morning down 7.6% at HK$52. Tencent Hunyuan teased an accelerated upgrade on its official Weibo, yet TENCENT (00700.HK) shed 1.1% to HK$496. JD-SW (09618.HK) subtracted 1.3%, while MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), BABA-W (09988.HK) and BIDU-SW (09888.HK) eroded between 1.7% and 2.3%.
