A spokesperson for China's Ministry of Commerce expressed strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition, stating that the "Section 301 investigation" has clear unilateral and protectionist overtones. Previously, the US "Section 301 tariffs" on China were ruled by the World Trade Organization (WTO) to violate WTO rules, and China has repeatedly lodged stern representations with the US, the spokesperson added.
