Apple (AAPL.US)’s App Store China free list showed that DeepSeek App, developed by the domestic foundation model company DeepSeek, topped the chart today (27th). In parallel, DeepSeek App jumped to the first place from the sixth on Apple’s App Store free list in the US yesterday (26th), toppling ChatGPT and Meta (META.US)’s social media platform Threads, as well as generative AI products from American big techs, such as Google Gemini and Microsoft (MSFT.US) Copilot. This is also reportedly the only time that a Chinese App can seize the first place in Apple App Store in China and the US at the same time. Previously, RedNote and Temu also became the download champions of the US App Store, but failed to concurrently take the top spot in China. Domestic AI concept stocks listed in HK broadly advanced this morning. GDS-SW (09698.HK) last traded at $23, up 10.05%, with a turnover of $40.3561 million. AINNOVATION (02121.HK) last stood at $6.2, up 8.8%, with a turnover of $41.4615 million. WEIMOB INC (02013.HK) also soared 8.1% to $2.39, with a turnover of $323 million. SENSETIME-W (00020.HK) leaped 7.9% this morning, peaking at $1.64, the highest in more than a month, before the gains narrowed. It last printed at $1.58, up 3.95%, with a turnover of $985 million. Huatai Securities covered SenseTime for the first time and gave it a Buy rating with a target price of $2.1. In addition, BIDU-SW (09888.HK) and KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK) also jumped up by more than 4%. XTALPI-P (02228.HK) rose 1.6%. BABA-W (09988.HK) and TENCENT (00700.HK) surged 3.2% and 1.1% respectively. However, SMIC (00981.HK) slid 2.9% to $40.1. DeepSeek had released a free and open source large language model (LLM) DeepSeek-R1 at the end of last year, which surpassed the industry-leading Meta Llama 3.1, OpenAI GPT-4o, and Anthropic Claude Sonnet 3.5 in multiple mathematical and reasoning benchmarks. DeepSeek had released the inference model R1 last week, which also exceled OpenAI's latest o1 in many third-party tests. AAStocks Financial News |
