The HSI escalated 338 points or 1.6% to close at 21,395. The HSCEI gained 118 points or 1.5% to 7,897. The HSTECH added 91 points or 1.9% to 4,887. Total market turnover reached HKD192.411 billion. For techs, IDC said that XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) led China’s smartphone shipments in 1Q25, with its stock up 1.7%. BABA-W (09988.HK) and TENCENT (00700.HK) advanced 3.1% and 2.2%, respectively. BIDU-SW (09888.HK), BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) and KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) rallied 2%-2.8%. NTES-S (09999.HK) surged 4.6%. MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) and JD-SW (09618.HK) lifted 1.2% and 0.6%, respectively. Other techs GDS-SW (09698.HK) and XD INC (02400.HK) jumped up 11% and 5.9%, respectively. NETEASE MUSIC (09899.HK), KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK), NEW ORIENTAL-S (09901.HK), KINGSOFT (03888.HK) and WEIMOB INC (02013.HK) spiked 3.2%-4.1%. KINGSOFT CLOUD (03896.HK) sagged 5.3% after announcing a potential USD2.264 billion raise through ADS and share issuance. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) hiked 1.3% and 3.3%, respectively. Handset component makers AAC TECH (02018.HK), Q TECH (01478.HK) and COWELL (01415.HK) rose over 2%. PC manufacturer LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) soared 2.4%. Chinese property developers rallied, with KWG GROUP (01813.HK) up 8.1%; SEAZEN (01030.HK) and YUEXIU PROPERTY (00123.HK) up over 6%; SUNAC (01918.HK), CIFI HOLD GP (00884.HK) and CHINA VANKE (02202.HK) up 5%-5.4%; LONGFOR GROUP (00960.HK) and AGILE GROUP (03383.HK) up over 4%.
