Hong Kong bourse opened higher in the morning after China and the US reached a consensus on trade issues and said they will announce a joint statement. Meanwhile, mainland's inflation sank 0.1% YoY as expected. The HSI opened up 316 points or 1.4% at 23,183. The HSCEI added 120 points or 1.4% to 8,429. The HSTECH gained 111 points or 2.2% to 5,291. Export-related stocks thrived. TECHTRONIC IND (00669.HK) opened 3.9% higher. SHENZHOU INTL (02313.HK) and MINTH GROUP (00425.HK) rallied 3.1% and 3%, respectively. Home appliance maker HAIER SMARTHOME (06690.HK) jumped up 3.3%. Smartphone-related stocks BYD ELECTRONIC (00285.HK) and SUNNY OPTICAL (02382.HK) surged 4%. PC manufacturer LENOVO GROUP (00992.HK) opened 3.3% higher. In tech, BABA-W (09988.HK), TENCENT (00700.HK), BIDU-SW (09888.HK), NTES-S (09999.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK) and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) opened 1.5%-2.4% higher. JD-SW (09618.HK) and MEITUAN-W (03690.HK) swelled 2.7% and 2.8%, respectively. XIAOMI-W (01810.HK) edged up 0.2%. Amid CATL (03750.HK)’s IPO, automakers LI AUTO-W (02015.HK), XPENG-W (09868.HK) and GEELY AUTO (00175.HK) spiked 2.9%-3.3%. NIO-SW (09866.HK) leaped 4.1%.
