BYD COMPANY (01211.HK)'s news verification unit released an announcement on Weibo that it had officially filed a lawsuit against several social media accounts and the related MCN agencies for compensation of RMB3 million. It will also pursue legal action against five other social media accounts at the same time. According to BYD COMPANY, it has recently noticed a surge in defamatory and insulting posts targeting it circulating across multiple online platforms and networks.
