MPFA: MPF Total Assets Cross $1.4T, Up 131% from 10 Yrs Ago

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) announced today (4th) that the total assets of the Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) crossed HK$1.4 trillion (approximately HK$1.43 trillion) as of the end of June 2025, marking an upsurge of 131% compared to ten years ago. The MPFA stated that since the implementation of the MPF system in 2000, the average annualized net returns of equity funds and mixed asset funds, which together accounted for nearly 80% of the total MPF assets, were 4.7% and 4.3% respectively, topping the annualized inflation rate of 1.8% over the same period.
